Who we are
Intel Mapper (intelmapper.com) is an open-source-intelligence conflict map operated by an independent developer. Contact: @Neferolan on X.
What we collect
- Account data: if you sign in with Google or Patreon we store your display name, e-mail address and membership tier — nothing else from those accounts.
- Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, country, device type). IP addresses are not stored by us.
- Push notifications: if you enable alerts we store your anonymous browser push subscription token. Disable alerts at any time with the bell icon; the token is then deleted.
- Server logs: standard web-server logs (IP, URL, timestamp) kept briefly for security and debugging.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie for login state, plus cookies set by Google Analytics. Third-party advertising partners (when present) may set their own cookies; see below.
Advertising
Free accounts may be shown advertising. Ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads; where required we request consent. Paid supporters (Observer tier and above) browse ad-free.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not track individual users across other websites.
- We do not store payment details — payments are processed entirely by Patreon.
Your rights
You may request a copy or deletion of your account data at any time via @Neferolan. Logging out removes the session cookie; deleting your Patreon/Google authorisation revokes our access.
Children
The service documents armed conflict and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change; the date above reflects the latest revision.
